Terms & Conditions

We know most people don’t think about the need for insurance when travelling within the UK but the unexpected can always happen and if you need to cancel your visit to us you could lose your deposit or even the full cost of the course.

We therefore strongly advise all our students to arrange Personal Accident and Travel/Cancellation Insurance when booking onto one of our courses and recommend Aviva Travel Insurance.

It only costs a relatively small payment to Aviva and they offer a 10% discount for arranging your cover online. This will cover you for charges up to £5,000 if you have to cancel or abandon your visit to us as long as you have booked at least two nights consecutive accommodation.

Booking information:

The cost includes the training course fee, accommodation and all meals during your stay. Travel to the course is not included in the price but if you are travelling by train we provide free transfers to and from either of our local stations (Thirsk or Northallerton).

Special diets can be catered for, but you must inform the office of your requirements when booking your course. Participants must be over 18 years of age and all our training courses are non-smoking inside the premises.

It may be possible to book to stay overnight before and/or after your course depending on our other wellbeing retreat schedules. This can be arranged through the office, once your course has been booked.

Payment Policy:

A non-refundable deposit of £200 is required for each training course. This deposit is taken upon booking the course, with the remaining balance being due 21 days prior to the start of the course. If the course is booked less than 4 weeks in advance the deposit facility will not be available and the full amount will need to be paid when booking.

Rescheduling Policy:

If you decide to reschedule from one course to another course, it will be treated as a cancellation on your part and the ‘Refund Policy’ terms and conditions herein shall apply.

Refund Policy:

If you decide to cancel the course after paying the deposit, this deposit can be transferred to another course or another person (to be used within a 12 month period of the original course booked) but cannot be refunded. A rescheduling fee of £50 will apply.

If you have made full payment, cancellations made 4 weeks or more before the course start date will receive a refund of the remaining balance of the course fee but none of the deposit will be returned. If you cancel less than four weeks before the start of the course, a 50% refund of the remaining balance will be given, but none of the deposit will be returned.

If you cancel within one week of the start of the course, no refund will be given. We strongly advise you to take out your own insurance in case you have to cancel through illness or other unforeseen circumstances.

As stated above we recommend Aviva Travel Insurance.

Cancellation Policy:

All information included in our website and publicity is correct at the time of going to press, but may be subject to change. Whilst we do not anticipate changes to the advertised course dates, we may have to cancel or postpone courses at our discretion.

The wellbeing coach training courses managed by the Raw Horizons Academy offer fixed programs which all participants are required to take part in. A program timetable is understandably subject to change at little or no notice due to weather conditions, staff availability and other circumstances which are often beyond the control of the Raw Horizons Academy.

If the course is cancelled, you may transfer your registration to another course date or receive a full refund of all monies (excluding travel costs). We suggest you take out your own insurance in case of cancellation through unforeseen circumstances and again we recommend checking out Aviva Travel Insurance.

Raw Horizons Ltd shall in no event be held liable for any loss or other damages including but not limited to special, incidental, consequential, or any other damages nor can they accept liability for participant's medical or psychiatric conditions which may exist or which may arise during or subsequent to participation on one of our courses.

We reserve the right to ask participants to leave the course if their behaviour is disruptive to the running of the course or to the other participants and staff. If you withdraw from the course at any time or if you are requested to leave due to disruptive behaviour, no part of the course fee shall be refunded. In the case of our staff's decision to ask you to leave, all matters arising from a dispute are subject to English law and are subject to the jurisdiction of the English courts.

Money Back Guarantee:

You may, however, cancel a payment made on this website within 7 days of booking a course by sending an email quoting your reference or confirmation number (you will have received this in the email receipt when booking through this site). All refunds will be credited to the payment card used to make the booking.  Refunds will be made within 30 days of receipt of the written cancellation request.

Your Privacy:

We have updated our Privacy Policy to provide more detail about how we use your personal information and your rights concerning that use. For residents of the EU, this includes your rights under the EU General Data Protection Regulation. Please refer to our Privacy Policy page for further details.
